I have grand plans of writing a new post about the fun things we've been doing lately, but as I sit here and try to write, all I can think about it the earthquake in Haiti. Thousands of people have been affected by this act, it's something that will change the nation forever. I wish I were in the physical condition and able to leave my children to go aid the Hatians, I know it's something that would change me forever.
It kinda puts the trials I face in perspective.
I can sure relate to this. My heart was so heavy last night, thinking about all of those that were lost and didn't know Christ. More than anything it was sobering to think that there are so many people who have heard the Gospel in our great nation, and yet daily choose to reject it.
ReplyDeleteRegarding chickens...Yes, I'm a bit of a chicken lover. Not sure if I should admit that, but it's TRUE! I love my girls! I have 11 or 12 hens and a rooster. A variety of White Rocks, Cuckoo Marans, Black Copper Marans, and a Rhode Island Red looking trio - I don't think they are RIH's, but I'm not sure what they are. We live in city limits, and it's not technically legal to have them, but it just so happens that behind our addition there is a couple who have over 70 different breeds, and you hear their roosters all the time, soooo I think that's why I can get away with it. Everybody is pretty much used to hearing them. I'm so excited we're going to be hatching some more out. So far I've gathered a dozen from my own hens, and I've bought 8 more Black Copper Maran eggs, and hopefully I'll win these spanish heritage breed eggs tonight. I have half an hour left, and so far so good! Anyway, like I said, I'm a bit of a chicken nut. I'll have to write a post about it sometime. ;) Hopefully your landlord will let you have them! Especially the hens, they are so quiet. What breeds do you prefer?
